Netafim, An Orbia Business and Plasback announces recycling partnership.

Auckland, New Zealand, Monday 20^th November 2023, Netafim, an Orbia Business and Plasback announce partnership which will provide a circular economy solution for used dripline from the field in New Zealand. The partnership between the two companies will enable growers in New Zealand with end-of-life dripline to recycle this product in a sustainable way.  The ‘Recoil Programme’ will allow those growers needing a solution for their old used dripline to contact Netafim and arrange a recoiling machine to collect the material from the field in an appropriate way.  Once collected, Plasback will arrange for collection from farm or provide suitable drop-off points for the coiled material. 

Currently this material is recycled into other plastic products, but the goal of the partnership is to achieve a closed-loop solution, where the processed material can be re-used in the manufacture of irrigation products at Netafim’s factory in Australia.

Plasback’s partnership with Netafim is a great opportunity to continue Plasback’s work, combined with Netafim’s brand leadership, in the recycling space across Oceania.
